Volunteers Needed!

Thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, and supporters of the 2014 Creek to Bay Cleanup!  With a record 96 coastal and inland cleanup sites, we were able to beautify even more of San Diego's treasured outdoor areas.  Save the date for the 13th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup, scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015!

Support ILACSD!

Do you love the beach? Or maybe a local canyon? You must love something about the great outdoors if you are volunteering to keep it clean at the Creek to Bay Cleanup. We recognize and appreciate you giving your time to volunteer with us, and we hate to ask anything else. But we do have one more request…Can you Give A Buck for the Environment? That’s right, we’re asking each and every Creek to Bay volunteer to give $1 (or more) to help offset the cost of this countywide cleanup effort. Simply bring a dollar with you to the cleanup and place it in the donation box when you check in. Your donation will help to pay for things like water, snack bars, bags, gloves and other cleanup supplies. If every volunteer donates just $1, we would raise $6,000! If you forget your donation, you can always donate on our website anytime!

Again, thank you for the time that you devote to keeping San Diego clean and please consider our request to #GiveABuck for the environment?

Save the date for the 2015 Creek to Bay Cleanup, scheduled for Saturday, April 25th from 9AM - 12noon.  I Love A Clean San Diego plans to coordinate over 90 countywide locations, and are looking for recommendations of parks, canyons, creeks, or neighborhoods in need of volunteers.  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you have a site recommendation, and if you are interested in becoming a site captain to lead volunteers at the site of your choice.  Site captains receive the necessary tools and training from ILACSD to host a successful community project, and they help make countywide efforts like Creek to Bay possible each year.  We especially need site captains and location recommendations in El Cajon, Spring Valley, and Carlsbad.  Also, site captains are needed for some of our reoccurring cleanup sites at La Jolla Shores, Del Mar Powerhouse Park, Tijuana River Valley, and Silverstrand State Beach.

Online registration will be available April 1st, so check back for a complete list of cleanup sites, maps, directions, and fun event activities.  Click here for a save the date flyer if you would like to get started recruiting volunteers!

Thank you to all supporters and volunteers of the 12th Annual Creek to Bay Cleanup!  Despite the weather, over 5,200 volunteers braved the cold wind and rain to remove close to 200,000 pounds of litter and debris from a record 96 coastal and inland cleanup sites!

Bling Your Bucket winners have been announced!  Winning photos are posted here. Thank you to all participants that helped reduce waste at Creek to Bay!
